Four channels cover almost every real Dubai visa from Nigeria:

1. Emirates/flydubai visa service — tied to a confirmed, paid ticket. Simplest if you’re already booking the flight.
2. Licensed UAE travel agency — an IATA-accredited agency sponsors your file for a service fee on top of the government charge.
3. Hotel or individual host — a UAE hotel sponsors guests with a confirmed booking; a UAE-resident friend or relative can sponsor you directly. This is the sponsor/hotel condition most guides skip.
4. GDRFA/ICP direct — a UAE-resident sponsor files on the government’s own smart-services portal, not through a reseller.

Searching “mofa.gov.ae Lagos” does find something real. The UAE Consulate General in Lagos publishes its own visa document list. It asks for a passport valid six months, a completed form, two photographs, and an invitation letter from a company or host. That is the invitation-backed route, not a walk-in tourist counter. One Nigerian myth also needs killing. Posts still claim Nigerians fly to the UAE visa-free since 15 July 2024 on a “Document Verification Number”. Visa processing reopened that month with conditions attached. It did not become visa-free (BBC News Pidgin, 15 July 2024). No GDRFA or ICP channel we could verify issues a DVN in place of a visa. Qatar’s Hayya platform drops the sponsor step for some travellers. Saudi Arabia runs a tourist e-Visa. The UAE offers neither shortcut: every tier here needs one of the four sponsors above.

Mills sit outside all four. The tells: a WhatsApp-only “agent”, no verifiable business registration, full payment demanded before you see anything. None of these AED figures is one fixed government-published number this cycle. They’re what sponsors and agencies commonly quote. Confirm the exact total with your specific sponsor before you commit.

Nigerian travel sites still list a 30-day Dubai visa at ₦45,000-₦60,000 (flydestinations.com.ng, seen July 2026). That sits below the AED fee at today’s rate. Either the naira price is stale, or it is a headline that grows at checkout. Price any quote against the AED figure, not against another naira quote.

The bank-balance question, answered honestly

There’s no Schengen-style per-day amount here. Emirates and flydubai staff in Lagos check three things: a return ticket, a hotel booking or sponsor address, and visible funds. Funds means cash, a working card, or a bank statement. No figure is attached to it. Fail any of the three at the gate and you’re refused boarding, not entry. The airline pays if the UAE turns you away on arrival, so it screens harder than Dubai immigration does. Only the 5-year multi-entry visa carries a real income test, near $4,000 a month or an equivalent balance. That figure isn’t confirmed here as one fixed government number.

A refundable deposit is common with hotel or individual hosts, and the sponsor sets it, not the government. A status-change fee applies if you switch visa type inside the UAE instead of exiting and re-entering. None of the three show up in a mill’s headline price.

A “guaranteed 90-day visa” that turns out shorter is how travellers overstay without realising it. Fines follow, and so does a re-entry ban. Its length is set case by case, not published as one figure.
